Equine Facilitated Applied Modality Certification

The Equuarius EFAMP Training is a year-long certification program designed for healers, bodyworkers, therapists, equestrians, and facilitators who want to ethically and intuitively integrate horses into their professional healing work. This program blends hands-on experience, mentorship, and a deep understanding of equine wisdom to create a truly transformational journey.

In equine-assisted healing, mentorship is essential because this work isn’t just about technique; it’s about energetic awareness, ethical discernment, and deepening your ability to listen to both horses and humans.

    A structured mentorship provides ongoing support, allowing you to integrate what you learn, refine your skills, and navigate challenges with confidence.

    Having a mentor ensures that as you grow, you’re not just absorbing knowledge—you’re embodying it. This is why the Equuarius Practitioner Training extends beyond the in-person retreat and offers a full year of mentorship, so you can step into this work with clarity, support, and a strong foundation.

  • The Retreat

    Each horse is a unique teacher, offering different insights, energy, and responses based on their temperament, history, and environment. The in-person retreat is where theory meets practice, allowing you to step into a fully immersive experience where you will work directly with horses in real-time.

    By interacting with a variety of horses—each with their own personality, sensitivities, and ways of communicating—you'll deepen your ability to observe/witness,read body language, build trust in yourself, and refine your intuition.

    Locations may vary, but each retreat space is intentionally chosen to create a grounded, safe, and natural setting for this work. Whether you’re with a highly sensitive horse, a confident leader, or one that requires patience and presence, each interaction will expand your understanding of equine partnership and healing facilitation.

What it looks like

  •  12 months Mentorship & Support (24 Live Calls for Ongoing Guidance) 
  • 5 Day In-Person Retreat (Hands-On Training & Immersion)
  • one 1:1 call per month. This includes a private session and or a debreif and custom support for you and any challenges you are experiencing.

    Horses have been my greatest teachers, shaping my understanding of movement, trust, and healing from an early age.

    My journey began with vaulting and intuitive horsemanship, later evolving into competitive riding, rehabilitation, and eventually, equine-facilitated healing.

    A pivotal moment with a horse named Z led me to study Bowen Therapy, animal communication, and consciousness-based medicine, deepening my ability to listen beyond words.

    Now, alongside my herd, I teach presence-based facilitation, ethical equine partnership, and the transformative power of horses as co-facilitators in healing.

Matisse Williams

  • ‍ ‍Nine years ago, I left behind a life that didn’t fit and stepped onto a quieter, riskier path shaped by listening and the heart of the horse.

    My work has been formed through long-term relationship with horses—through sanctuary life, equine-facilitated learning, and the subtle education that happens when presence replaces control. I am less interested in methods than in perception, and in what becomes possible when humans and horses meet without agenda.

    Horses continually teach me about coherence: how they track the nervous system, the relational field, and what is ready to be seen. This has shaped my approach to facilitation as ethical, embodied, and deeply relational.

    Today, alongside my herd, I facilitate equine-guided constellations, mentorship, and learning experiences that support perceptive leadership, ethical partnership with horses, and trust in embodied knowing. I work with the horse as a conscious collaborator in healing and learning

Credits & electives

This learning experience is multi-modal and includes electives and pathways supported by teachers from ethology, neuroscience, earth based wisdom traditions, Soulful business, non-verbal communication and quantum theory to name a few.

In my experience, it is paramount and self serving to have a variety of teachers as they all bring their unique style, language and perspectives to a practice.

This program works by credits. Each class has a number of credits to be used for the completions of your certification.

Two locations to work with Hillary's herd of 30 horses, and a secondary location to work with my partial herd.

We may book AirBnB for final night. However, this is subject to change if it becomes too complicated.

Vernon is a two hour drive from kamloops.

Flights would come into Kamloops BC with a pickup to bring you to the the Retreat and a drop off
